Is this for you?

There’s no single right reason. Only your own.

Women consider breast augmentation at different stages of life, for reasons that are entirely personal. A consultation is simply a conversation — no commitment, no pressure to proceed.

  • Restoring volume after pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight change
  • Balancing a natural difference in size between breasts
  • Enhancing size or proportion to suit your frame
  • Feeling more at ease in how your clothes fit

Understanding your options

A clear look at how breast augmentation works

There isn’t one “best” option — only the one that suits your body, your goals and your health. Here are the main approaches your surgeon will talk through with you.

Illustration of two implant shapes

Silicone & saline implants

Silicone implants tend to feel more natural and are the most widely used; saline implants are filled with sterile salt water. The right type, shape and size are chosen with you, based on your frame and what you want.

How the implant is placed

An implant can sit above or beneath the chest muscle. The incision — under the breast fold, around the areola, or through the armpit — is chosen to suit your anatomy and keep scarring discreet.

Illustration of the fat transfer process

Fat transfer

This uses your own fat, gently moved from another area, for a modest and natural increase — with no implant. It suits smaller, subtle enhancements, and some of the transferred fat naturally settles over time.

Which option is right for you is a decision you and Dr. Chowdri make together, in consultation.

Honest expectations

What surgery can — and can’t — do

Realistic expectations are the foundation of a good result. We’d rather have an honest conversation now than promise something surgery cannot deliver.

What it can do

  • Increase breast size and improve proportion
  • Restore volume lost after pregnancy or weight change
  • Improve balance between the two breasts
  • Help you feel more comfortable in how clothes fit

What it can’t do

  • Promise an exact cup size or a “perfect” result
  • Create flawless symmetry — some natural difference always remains
  • Lift significantly sagging breasts on its own
  • Last a lifetime — implants may need revision in future years

“We’ll always tell you what’s realistic for your body.”

Common questions

The things people ask us most

Is breast augmentation painful?

Some soreness, tightness and swelling in the first days is normal and is managed with medication your surgeon prescribes. Most people describe it as manageable discomfort rather than severe pain, easing over the first week or two.

How long is recovery?

Many people return to desk-based work in about a week. Strenuous activity and exercise are usually avoided for four to six weeks. Swelling settles gradually, and the final result is typically visible around three to six months.

Are implants permanent?

Implants are not lifetime devices. They may need revision or replacement over ten to fifteen years or more, and sometimes sooner. Weight changes and pregnancy can also affect your result over time.

Will it affect breastfeeding or mammograms?

These are important considerations and are discussed openly in your consultation. Techniques can be chosen with these factors in mind, and you’ll receive clear guidance for future screening.

What are the risks?

As with any surgery, there are general risks such as infection, bleeding and anaesthesia-related risks. Procedure-specific ones include capsular contracture, changes in sensation, and the possibility of revision surgery. A thorough consultation and a qualified surgeon meaningfully reduce these risks — and every risk relevant to you will be explained before you decide.

How much does it cost?

Cost depends on your individual case — the approach, technique and what’s right for you. It’s discussed transparently during your consultation, with no obligation to proceed.

Can I see before-and-after photos?

In line with Indian medical council guidelines, we don’t publish or advertise patient photographs. Instead, Dr. Chowdri will discuss realistic expectations with you directly and privately in your consultation — which is a far more honest guide to what’s achievable for you.
